About the Exhibition

Rooted in Culture is an international contemporary art exhibition project dedicated to presenting the vitality and depth of Georgian art on a global stage. This December, following the Art Basel Miami Beach wave, Rooted in Culture arrives on Lincoln Road as a special pop-up exhibition, marking the conclusion of the project’s 2025 exhibition program.

Curated by Ketevan Paitchadze, the Miami presentation offers a focused selection of original paintings, sculpture, and mixed-media works by both established and emerging Georgian artists. Through themes of heritage, identity, and modernity, the exhibition explores the dialogue between tradition and contemporary artistic expression.

The Project

Originating in Tbilisi, Rooted in Culture has been presented at distinguished cultural and institutional venues including the Library of Congress, United Nations Plaza, the Hamptons Fine Art Fair, and the Davis Center at Harvard University, among others. Each presentation adapts to its location while remaining grounded in the project’s core mission: fostering cross-cultural understanding through art.

The Miami pop-up serves as a year-end reflection—concluding the current exhibition season while opening space for the project’s continued evolution beyond 2025.

Featured Artist

As a special feature of the Miami exhibition, acclaimed Georgian artist Sergo Tbileli will welcome visitors and present works from his celebrated series We Are Mushrooms, alongside other significant works. Known for his symbolic and conceptual approach, Tbileli’s practice offers a compelling exploration of collective identity and contemporary cultural narratives.
